Juried Art Show
The Heckscher Museum of Art’s Long Island Biennial offers Long Island’s artists an opportunity to show their work to a broad public, deepening the connections between artists and the communities in which they live. Inaugurated in 2010, the Long Island Biennial has been ongoing for 10 years.
The Heckscher Museum of Art presents the 2022 Long Island Biennial, a prestigious juried exhibition featuring works by contemporary artists from Suffolk and Nassau Counties. The Museum received 732 artwork entries, with three jurors selecting 97 works for exhibition. There are 57 artists in the exhibition, representing communities stretching from Freeport to Lynbrook to East Hampton. The Biennial presents a remarkable variety of styles spanning abstraction to hyperrealism. See exhibiting artists engage with issues such as social justice, health, and ecology, and bring new approaches to traditional materials and techniques.
